The new product under Bepanthen - Relief from the itching and redness of skin irritations
A new Bepanthen product is introduced: the steroid-free cream, which helps to relieve itch and redness caused by dry skin and eczema. The new product can be used on babies from 1 month up and adults, who have sensitive skin.
Itchy and red skin is caused by dry skin, eczema/atopic dermatitis, allergic skin reaction and several other skin irritations. It demands proper treatment particularly when it occurs with babies, who have sensitive skin.
Bayer Thai Co., Ltd’s Consumer Health, the importer of Bepanthen products from Germany, recently organized an academic seminar entitled “Self-care for eczema” at The Renaissance Hotel where the new Bepanthen product was unveiled. Joining the introduction event were Prof.Orapan Poachanukoon, M.D., Director of Center of Excellence for Allergy, Asthma and Pulmonary Diseases at Thammasat University Hospital; Assoc.Prof. Arucha Treesirichod, M.D., Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Srinakharinwirot University; and the actress Alicia (Ann) Hiranpruk who brought along her daughter “Richa”.
Prof. Orapan Poachanukoon, M.D., said on the stage: “Itchy, dry and red skin can occur in people at all ages, particularly babies and children under 5 years old. Mostly, rash appears on their cheeks, bodies, arms and legs. Causing this can be an allergy to eggs, milk and wheat or frequent hot baths which leave the skin dry and damage the skin barrier. Children and adults can also develop these skin conditions because of bed bugs or the bad skin habits. Baths and showers with water at room temperature and the application of moisturizers within 5 minutes after bath or shower can prevent these skin conditions. The best moisturizers should be specifically indicated for eczema/sensitive skin and clinically proven. They should be colorless, odorless and free from unnecessary ingredients. But if the rash appears to be serious or chronic, doctor consultation is recommended”.
Alicia (Ann) Hiranpruk admitted her grave concerns when her daughter had eczema at 3 months old. “Her cheeks turned red and flaky. I started searching the internet for more information but I was confused by a load of recommendations. Some recommended medicines contained steroid and this worried me, as I am extra careful for the products for my daughter. I always try all products before applying them on her. The steroid-free, colorless and odorless products make me confident and convince me that I have chosen the best thing for her.”
Boonsri Taechasansiri, General Manager to Consumer Health, Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, Bayer Thai Co., Ltd., said Bayer Thai has introduced a new Bepanthen-branded product to relieve itchy and red skin, to gain a footprint in the non-steroidal irritated skin care market encouraged by the success of Bepanthen ointment. Bepanthen ointment, the first in Bepanthen range imported to Thailand, has been the No.1 brand in nappy care market for over 15 years.
The new Bepanthen product is free from steroid and ingredients that may cause skin irritations including perfume and preservatives. It can soothe itch and redness caused by dry skin, eczema/atopic dermatitis and allergic reactions. Thanks to its lipid lamellar technology, the new product reinforces and strengthens the skin barrier, which acts as a natural protection against irritation. This provides relief of itch and redness. The cream contains physiologic humectants like glycerin to bind water into the skin. This effect is supported by Provitamin B5 which moisturizes the skin barrier and hence provides optimal conditions for the natural regeneration process of the skin. The new product is recommended for babies, children and adults.
