Drone for Agriculture training to drive and support Thailand 4.0 in Agriculture
Under the precision farming project, the Rice Department collaborating with Department of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, International Rice Research Institute and Bayer Thai Co.,Ltd has recently organized “Drone for Agriculture training” at Pathumthani Rice Research Center on Friday, 24th May 2019 to ensure that farmers, government and private sector received appropriate information and to encourage all to exchange their opinions of using drones. In the training, there was a drone demonstration for agricultural uses to show how drones help generate accurate field data and increase crop production by pesticides spraying. Additionally, there was a discussion to develop better understanding on how to fly the drones safely and legally which will solve the farm labor shortage issues. Besides, Dr. Bjoern Roepke, Head of Registration & Product Safety Team Leader, Asia Pacific, Bayer (South East Asia) Pte Ltd., also gave a lecture on “Drone Safety” to support the safety of agricultural drone usage in various countries.
